Faced with the health emergency stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board of Directors of the National Fund Institute for Workers´ Consumption announced a program on April 27 named: “Support Plan”, that provides benefits to accredited employees.
These support actions include the following:
a) Payment deferment for the months of April and May that will not affect borrowers in the credit bureau. The institute will keep them up to date on their loans, independently of any payment received.
b) Reduction in the payment amount if there has been a salary reduction, considering a maximum discount of 20% in salary.
c) Under no circumstances will there be any extra charges or default interest if the employees add to the plan.
d) Accredited employees who lose their jobs will receive a protection benefit for payments that were contracted for a loan with the National Fund Institute for Workers´ Consumption (FONACOT), that includes coverage of up to six monthly payments in the event of unemployment for any reason.
When employees maintain an employment relationship, these benefits must be requested by the employer through an incidence document, requesting adherence to the same National Fund Institute for Workers´ Consumption, using their helpline.
