On December 16, 2019 an amendment was issued by the National Minimum Wage Commission for a 20% increase in the General Minimum Wage for the area known as: “The Rest of the Country” from $102.68 to $123.22 pesos, which is applicable from January 01, 2020. This increase is assimilated based on the current General Minimum Wage, in addition to the 14.67 pesos obtained through the Independent Recovery Amount [in Spanish: MIR], and a 5% inflation factor; in order to preserve the purchasing power of the workers.
For the Northern Border Free Zone the General Minimum Wage is set from $176.22 to $185.56 pesos for a working day, increasing 5% pertaining to the behavior of inflation.
