The Official Federal Gazette published, on September 25, 2020, the Notice to inform the general public of the resumption of deadlines for acts and procedures in charge of the Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (in Spanish: Instituto del Fondo Nacional de la Vivienda para los Trabajadores [INFONAVIT].)

Due to the COVID-19 health contingency, various measures were implemented, which were published in the Official Federal Gazette on May 4, 2020, intended to provide certainty and legal security to borrowers, beneficiaries, employers, jurisdictional bodies, administrative authorities, government bodies, and the general public regarding the procedures filed to the Institute, for which the legal terms and deadlines will resume.

On May 29, 2020, the Official Federal Gazette published a Notice, informing the general public of the technical specifications for the reopening of economic activities and the resumption of deadlines and legal terms for the acts and procedures in charge of INFONAVIT as per the following:

  • The legal terms and deadlines are resumed, which, for the acts and procedures in charge of INFONAVIT as an Autonomous Fiscal Body, had been suspended due to the declaration of the COVID-19 health emergency.
  • The terms established in article 46-A, first paragraph, of the Federal Tax Code must be resumed. The days from May 05, 2020, to the date of the publication of this Notice will not count.
  • That from the day following the publication of this Notice in the Official Federal Gazette (September 25, 2020), attention must continue to be given to the Notice by which the general public is made aware of the days of the year 2020 which will be considered as non-working days for the purposes of the acts and procedures in charge of INFONAVIT, published in the Official Federal Gazette on January 27 of this year.
