On June 26, the Federal Official Gazette published the bulletin in which the director of incorporation and collection, Norma Gabriela López Castañeda, pointed out the following updates.
Starting in August, the IMSS’ Mailbox tool will come into operation, thus reducing face-to-face contact between notifiers and employers. The Institute continues modernizing all its processes, and soon it will be possible to carry them out through the Mailbox.
The Mailbox will serve as an efficient communication channel with the employer, for distributing information as well as the delivery of documents. The Mailbox will operate 24 hours a day, reducing personal interactions and complying with the social distancing measures.
It is of note that the Mailbox operation does not bar carrying out actions that will continue to be notified in person. Also, the resumption of the terms and deadlines of acts and proceedings will begin on July 20.
Consequently, July 20 will be the deadline to file the opinion notification for the 2019 tax year, while the filing of said opinion, usually in September, will be extended to November 26 to give enough time to comply with the obligation.
It is worth mentioning that, at this stage, the resumption depends on the traffic light system that the Health Ministry communicates.
